About Us

In December 2011, the concept of the Expat Health Club was launched.

Expats living across the world were disgruntled and concerned with the complexity and costs associated with buying medical cover – read below (or contact us!) to learn more how we simplified the process and why.

Meet The Guys Behind The Concept

The guys who kicked this all off.

My Story. If you have found your way to our website….greetings! We tend to grow by word of mouth – and the common factor seems to be that folks like me were getting a bit concerned on the cost of continuing to fund insurance premiums. In my case, I was with a well known ‘brand’ – ok let’s call them BUPA – but because of subsequent 25% yearly increases I realised “this is not sustainable!”. And I was still in my fifties. Once I met Rory and he explained to me how to obtain medical cover without breaking the bank – and still having the comfort feeling that I am covered for the “big picture” stuff (Accident, Injury and Illness) – I was all in. We have Ambassadors worldwide – and we are all available to be contacted directly and happy to explain more. My Linkedin profile can be found here https://www.linkedin.com/in/rsoden/

Welcome Address by the Chairman Rory

We Established The First Trust Based Membership For Expats And The First Viable Alternative To The Existing Retail Insurance Market.

Why Did We Feel It Was Necessary To Offer An Alternative To Private Medical Insurance?

We wanted to provide benefits that we felt were necessary to the individuals and families who were working and living overseas – and most importantly – at a price that is affordable.

1.) Have You Purchased Private Medical Cover From An Insurance Company In The Past?

Did you find the process easy and did you fully understand what you were covered for?

With the Expat Health Club Membership it is One price only: EU4,300 per annum. That’s it – no hidden extras and no nasty surprises. We have simplified the process!

2.) We provide benefits that expats actually need.

In the event that any of our members have an Accident, Injury or Illness, your
Expat Health Club Membership will cover you.

3.) The Benefits We Do Not Provide

We decided to cover only impatient costs. Why? Because these are the costs that people generally can afford if something goes wrong.

But can you afford high costs should you have the following examples below?

a) $50,000 for a heart stent.
b) $25-35,000 for replacement hip or knee.
c)$70,000 for 7 nights in intensive care.

Outpatient benefits such as opticians or initial doctor consultation (e.g. runny noses and runny tummys!) are expenditures that the average expat can afford.

BUT THEN YOU HAVE AN ACCIDENT, ILLNESS OR INJURY?

YOU ARE COVERED BY YOUR EXPAT HEALTH CLUB MEMBERSHIP!

How We Made Medical Cover Simple (and Worth It)

We Set Up
a Trust

Sounds fancy, but here’s the gist:
A Trust is a secure setup that looks after benefits for its members — you. When you join, you pay $4,400 a year, and boom — you’re in. You become a “discretionary beneficiary,” which basically means you get the perks.

Want the legal stuff? Click here to learn more: What’s a Trust, What’s a Trustee, Who’s Who, etc.

We Go Straight to the Source

The Trust buys insurance directly from big-name, AAA-rated Underwriters (like GuardRisk — check them out here).

No agents. No middlemen. Just better prices and better value.

We Cut the
Fluff

You don’t need cover for every little thing. So we keep it simple:
You’re covered for the big stuff — accidents, serious illness, and major injuries. That’s where insurance should step in. For the smaller stuff, it’s usually cheaper just to pay “out of pocket” anyway.

Claims?
Super Easy.

We team up with the Expatriate Health Group, who handle all the paperwork and claims. So if something happens, you won’t be stuck on hold or filling out 20 forms. Click here to see how it works.

Anyone who is health conscious – then now is the best time to join! And you can become a member worldwide (except USA).

If you are a member of the Expat Health Club then your membership is portable and goes with you.

No. There are no restrictions as long as the hospital or medical provider can provide the necessary care.

You cannot be covered for any Professional or Competitive sports or league competitions.

Your free benefit of worldwide (excl USA) medical cover does not cover pre-existing medical conditions. Read Here.

You do not have a policy with an insurance company. You are a member of the Expat Health Club which purchases medical cover on your behalf from a registered insurer. The Expat Health Club is the policy holder, you are the beneficiary.

No – there zero deductibles for our members.
